Wine Grape Varieties- White Zinfandel | LiquorTrax

White Zinfandel(wite zinfun del), is a popular entry level wine, for the inexperienced palate. The zinfandel grape skins make some contact with the wine for color, but the style is much sweeter than wines made from this grape where the wine is made with full contact of the skins.

Rose wines are made pink too, but with a light dry style which typically doesn’t appeal to White Zinfandel drinkers.

I try to guide guests to expanding their palate, by recommending wines slightly drier than they are used to. Going too dry with your recommendations can be a turn off. Stay as close to the flavor profiles they enjoy so the guest is more open and adventurous.

Although serious wine drinkers will not enjoy this wine…we all started somewhere when we began tasting wine. My first wine was Boones Farm Strawberry Hill! It was years before I was able to start appreciating dry wines.

White Zinfandel wines are very popular so have plenty on hand, but please do your part to expose the general public to wines of quality so that these generic sugar bombs lose their popularity!

Moscatto and Riesling are sweeter wines, some with excellent quality that would be a great recommendation.
