Wine Grape Varieties-Sauvignon Blanc | LiquorTrax

Server Wine Educational Series

This light refreshing white wine has lively citrus flavors, many with notes of grapefruit.

New Zealand versions of this wine are wildly popular and can even finish a bit creamy.

French Sauvignon Blanc from the Alsace region demonstrates a subtle minerality and herbatious notes. Dessert wines are exceptional made with this grape variety in France in the Loire region called Sancerre.

California Sauvignon Blanc tends to be more balanced in acidity generally, but not near as interesting.

Growing conditions, as well as many other factors, play a huge role in the wine’s expression and can create drastically different styles.

Sauvignon Blanc is a great food pairing wine due to the lively acidity. Think of patio dining in the Summer with a cheese plate or fresh seafood salad complimented with this light refreshing crisp wine…YUM!!
