It’s Wednesday and you are already thinking about your weekend plans and perhaps which wines to purchase. Each Wednesday, I will post two recommendations for your weekend wine choices which are under $20.00 – one white and one red. But this week, these shockingly good wines can be purchased for $10.00 – Woo hoo!
**Wolf Blass Yellow Label Chardonnay 2009 - You will NOT go wrong with this wine if you want a really good Chardonnay at a really good price point. Once again the Aussies are showing the Old World that they can make great wines, too. This Wolf Blass 100% Chardonnay took home the Silver Medal at the 2010 Royal Adelaide Wine Show. With green apple and pear on the nose, I loved the refreshing acidity which was balanced with peach, nectarine, green apple on the palate. The alcohol content was 13% and you can drink this now or let it age another year or two…but you won’t! Cost? A mere $10.00! Go.Now.Buy!
**Beso de Vino 2009 - Another delicious wine for $10.00? Yep! This wine is from Carenena D.O. west of Valencia and southeast of Madrid, Spain. Made from a blend of 85% Syrah and 15% Grenacha grapes, I enjoyed its intense aromas and the richness of blueberries, black cherries, strawberries, plum, and a little earth on the palate. This wine has a medium finish and alcohol content of 13.5% – such a fantastic value for a Spanish wine with some substance! This wine has potential for ageing but once again, you won’t let that happen! Enjoy~
I’d love to know how you like these wines!!
Cheers! ~ Cindy
